Silver & shell triple cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, fully signed (Loydham Junr. London) and numbered (1317). Original condition and running well.

DIAL : 37.75 mm. White enamel. In overall very good condition with some tiny chips around the edge at 4 and 5, and surface scratches. No repairs.

INNER CASE : 44.25 mm. Silver, hallmarked for London, 1757, maker’s mark rubbed. In good overall condition with no dents and just one deep but short scratch on the back, about 3mm long. The pendant has been reattached and the bow and pendant are probably replacements. High dome bull’s eye crystal in good condition. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

MIDDLE CASE : 52.50 mm. Silver, with no hallmarks (which is normal for these repousse cases). The hinge is fine and the catch is complete, though the catch button has worn. A little wear to the high points on the back but no holes or repairs.

OUTER CASE : 59 mm. Silver with horn or shell covering. Very good red colour to the horn. There are a few short cracks to the horn surface but none missing and no restoration. Just two silver pins missing from the bezel and one from the back. The hinge is fine and the catch spring is intact though the button is dented.
