MOVEMENT : The gilded verge fusee movement is running and is signed and numbered (2146). It has an unusual dust ring held on by two clips. This is probably a mid 19th century addition. The movement is complete but needs some attention. It is running fast, gaining about 10 minutes per hours, and also occasionally stops.

DIAL : The large white enamel dial is about 44.75 mm in diameter. It is in very good condition with just a few light surface scratches. Excellent gold beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : Diameter 49.5 mm. Silver hallmarks for London, 1792. Very good overall condition with no repairs or damage except for a little wear to the pendant. Good bull’s eye high dome crystal. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE : Diameter 56.5 mm. Wonderfully embossed and engraved with a stag, with borders of thistles. Matching hallmarks to the inner. The hinge and catch are again fine and the case snaps shut. Again in overall very good condition.

The outer case was probably decorated in the mid 19th century as it is very similar to the popular Victorian image of The Monarch Of The Glen, painted by Landseer in 1851.
