This is an 18ct rose gold cased pocket watch, made by Fausset in Paris towards the end of the 18th century.

MOVEMENT : The frosted gilt verge fusee movement is signed and numbered (1042). It is in wonderful, almost mint, condition.

DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 40mm in diameter. There is I very light hairline from the centre to 11 o’clock, a chip on the edge at 6 and another under the winding aperture. No repairs. Very nice matching gold pierced hands.

CASE : Diameter 47mm. The hinges and catches are all fine and all covers close nicely. The crystal is perfect. The rose coloured gold is in excellent condition with just a few very light scratches. The inside of the gold cover is marked DMN, with a serial number 10319, a triple chevron mark (French, 18ct gold) and star.
