Verge centre seconds movement

A substantial gilt cased verge with regulator type dial, centre seconds and stop/start lever.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Blued screws, silvered regulator disk and mainspring setup on the top plate. Signed (Williams, London) and numbered (1189). Good condition, and running well.

The stop lever, on the side of the case at 6, stops and restart the movement.

DIAL : Fine white enamel regulator dial, signed (JNo. WILLIAMS, LONDON), with centre seconds. In good condition except for one hairline running from the centre to the edge at 5, and some small flakes around the edge. No repairs.

Good gilt hands.

CASE : Gilt brass, with maker’s mark IN, and case serial number 490. The gilding is worn, but the brass is in good condition with just a light bruise to the back. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. No repairs. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.
