A fine quality mid 18thc gold verge, in excellent condition.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock, blued steel regulator disk and blued screws. Signed ‘Thos. Mullinex, DERBY’. Four fancy architectural pillars. 5 spokes to 3rd and 4th wheels.

All in very good original condition and running well.

DIAL : Original white enamel dial, in excellent condition. Only a few light scratches. Fine original 18th century steel beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : 22ct. gold, with hallmarks for London, 1768, maker GH.

All in good condition, with just a little compression to the case at the stem and light bruises around the band. The hinge is fine and the bezel closes correctly. Good high dome crystal with no damage.

OUTER CASE : A fine 22ct. gold pair case, with wonderful repousse work. A very small amount of wear at the high points of the repousse work. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

There is an old Derby watchpaper in the case.

The gold cases weigh 57.4 gms (excluding movement and crystal).
