A good “doctor’s dial” verge with stop/start lever.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Blued screws and silvered regulator disk. Fully signed and numbered (5565). Good condition, though with a few scratches on the top plate and around the pillar tops. Running well. The stop lever, on the side of the case at 4, stops and restart the movement.

DIAL : Fine white enamel ‘doctors’ dial, with overlapping chapters. In very good condition with no repairs, one small crack on the edge at 6, and a few light scratches.

INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for London, 1803, maker’s mark IA. Good condition with just a light bruise to the back. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : Silver, matching hallmarks to the inner. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine, and the bezel snaps shut. Some light bruises on the back, and one small crease where the hallmark has been punched through, but otherwise good.
