Silver gilt repousse pair cases

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Square pillars and silver regulator disk. Signed ‘Geo. Pembrook, London’ and numbered (17055). Nice condition and running well.

DIAL : 36.75 mm. White enamel in very good condition, with just some slight damage on the edge at 3 and a tiny chip at the catch at 6. No repairs. Fancy gilt hands.

INNER CASE : 42 mm, silver gilt, year mark for London, 1763, maker’s mark WM. The silver case is in good condition with very little wear to the gilding, but some scratches on the inside and some nicks to the bezel. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut properly. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : 49.35 mm, silver gilt, repousse. The hinge, catch and button are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. There is just a little wear to the gilding of the high points of the repousse work (silver showing through) but no holes. An excellent case.
