A tiny and beautiful late 18th century continental verge in a wonderful enamel and gold case.

MOVEMENT : Signed Gudin, Paris. Gilded verge movement in good original condition, and running well.

DIAL : 25 mm. White enamel. Some minor damage around the winding aperture, but otherwise fine. Fancy gold coloured hands.

CASE : 30 mm. Solid gold. The gold is in very good condition and the case closes though not tighly (slight gap). The high dome crystal is fine.
The enamel painted scene on the back is wonderful with just a few surface scratches, mostly towards the centre.

KEY : The watch is complete with a beautiful little gold key, with built in ratchet.

A Jacques Jerome Gudin is listed in Paris from 1750. He died in 1789.
