Very stylish half hunter cased gold verge in very nice condition.

MOVEMENT : gilt verge movement, fully signed (HAMLET, Princes Street, Leicester Fields) and numbered (2099). Diamond endstone. Nice clean original condition and running well.

DIAL : 37.5 mm, white enamel. In wonderful condition with no damage or repairs.

CASE : 42.5 mm, half hunter case in 18 ct gold. The beautifully engine turned case is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, London, 1875, (both covers) and a maker’s mark IN. The stem and bow are also solid gold and are original. All in very good condition with very little wear to the engine turning, a few very light scratches and an old repair to the hinge of the cover (well done, strong and only visible from the inside). The mineral crystal is fine.

Case weight, without movement, 34 gms.

Thomas Hamlet is listed at Princes Street, Leicester Square, London between 1795 and 1832. The area of Leicester Square was known as Leicester Fields at the beginning of the 19th century.
