MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, signed (W. Howard, London) and numbered (602). Pierced and engraved balance cock. Nice blued screws. Clean, good condition, original and running well.
DIAL : 34.3 mm. White enamel, in quite good condition, but with repairs, all on the edge at 3, between 4 and 7 and at 8. Very fine original 18th century gold beetle and poker hour hand but later plain minute hand.
INNER CASE : 39.5 mm. Gilt on brass, signed RN. Good overall condition with no damage or repairs, but wear to the gilding. The high dome crystal is fine.
OUTER CASE : 47.5 mm. Gilt brass with underpainted horn covering. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut. The bezel has a large section of horn missing. The back however is complete, the only damage being one crack down the side from the top of the hinge. 11 pins missing from the back. The painting, with gold highlights, is in excellent condition.
