Silver repousse pair cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Fully signed and numbered (8960). Gilded verge movement with engraved and pierced balance cock and plate. Bridged balance cock. There are a few scratches around the pillars but the movement is running.

DIAL : 37 mm. White enamel. A few hairlines but no repairs.

INNER CASE : 43 mm. London hallmarks for 1788 with maker’s mark BN and the movement number (8960). Reasonable condition with a few bruises and the pendant has been reattached to the case. High dome bull’s eye crystal in good condition. The hinge is good and the case snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE : 50 mm. Matching London hallmarks to the inner (the year stamp is not visible but the maker’s mark is again BN). It is very unusual to find hallmarks on a repousse case. The case is in very good condition with just one tiny pin hole where a high point has worn. The catch, button and hinge are all fine and the case closes nicely. A fine silver repousse case, original to the inner and movement.
