MOVEMENT : Signed “De Charme, London”. Gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, beautifully engraved balance cock and plate. In exceptionally fine, original condition. Complete and running well.

DIAL : 41.5 mm. Silver champleve dial. Signed as the movement. Good condition, though a little wear around the catch at 6 o’clock. Later gilt hands.

INNER CASE : 50 mm. Maker’s mark FR?. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. Good condition throughout with just some knocks around the front of the bezel. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : 58.5 mm. No maker’s mark. Again in very good condition with just one bruise near the catch button. The hinge and catch are fine.

This watch was probably made by Simon De Charmes, who is listed from 1685 until about 1730, rather than his son David.
