A very stylish watch, with fine early English lever movement, in a gold case decorated with cobalt blue enamel and spilt pearl borders. By the Watchmaker to the Prince of Wales.

MOVEMENT : Excellent early English lever movement. Fully signed (Jas. Tregent, Watch Maker to the Prince of Wales) and numbered (3364). Diamond endstone and undamaged blued screws. All in fine original condition and running well.

DIAL : 41 mm, cream enamel. There are some hairlines, running across the lower left, between 9 and 6. Otherwise perfect with no scratches, chips or repairs.

CASE : 51 mm. 22ct gold. No hallmarks but tested as high carat gold. The gold is in very good condition and hinges and catches are fine. There is a little wear to the enamel around the pendant and the circular panel has some scratches but no chips. The split pearl borders are complete, back and front. Good high dome crystal with a couple of small scratches but very minor.

Loomes list James Tregent (Watchmaker to the Prince of Wales) in London from 1759 to 1808. The Prince was the future George IV.
