Gilt & leather pair cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, signed and numbered (2994). Nice clean condition and running well.

DIAL : 33.5 mm. The white enamel dial is virtually perfect with just a couple of tiny flakes at the edge at 5 and 8 o’clock. Nice early beetle hour hand with later replacement minute hand.

INNER CASE : 41 mm. Gilt on brass. Maker WB. Very good condition with the gilding almost complete. High dome crystal with no damage. Hinges fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE : 48.25 mm. Brass gilt, with green leather covering and gilt pin and wire work. The leather has been textured to simulate shagreen (a practice used in the 18th century). The case is in excellent original condition with no restoration, only 2 pins missing and just a small amount of wear to the leather at the pendant. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely.
