This is a substantial and heavy, 18ct sold rose gold cased lever watch, made by James Rankin in Alnwick, Northumberland, around 1806.

MOVEMENT : High quality lever movement, with diamond endstone and signed removable dust cap. It is in excellent condition and is running well. It is signed and numbered (191).

DIAL : The cream enamel dial is about 47.75 mm in diameter. It is in perfect condition except for one small repair on the edge, outside the chapter ring at 12. Nice gold half hunter hands (double spade hour).

CASE : Diameter 55.5 mm. 18ct gold hallmarks for London, 1806.
Excellent condition with no repairs and just a coupleof small light bruises. The hinges, catches and crystal are all fine. This is a very heavy case, weighing 64 gms without the movement.
