Gold pair cases
Converted lever movement

Sold

An English solid 22ct gold pair case, with a wonderful repousse outer case, and later lever conversion movement.

MOVEMENT : Engraved and pierced balance cock with diamond endstone. It is signed and numbered (2175) and running well. Very good conversion to a lever movement, probably done around 1800.

DIAL : The later white enamel dial is about 38.5 mm in diameter. It is in exceptional condition with just a couple of tiny marks around the edge but virtually mint.

INNER CASE : 22ct gold, hallmarked for London 1720, maker IK. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The pendant has the usual repair where it has been reattached to the case. The high dome crystal is in good condition. The case is in reasonable condition but with a small hole near the winding aperture where a small dust cover might have been, and a crack on the shoulder, just below the stem, about 1cm long.

OUTER CASE : The gold repousse pair case is in fine condition with very little wear and just one tiny pin hole at a high point. Also a little wear to the catch button. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. This case is 49.5 mm in diameter.

Loomes lists John Everett in London before 1724.
