This is a rare and fascinating silver cased pocket watch, in exceptional condition, made as a memorial to a Walter John Wilson, by James Smith around 1807.

MOVEMENT : Beautiful, high quality gilt verge movement, signed (James Smith, LONDON) and numbered (1100). Finely engraved and pierced balance cock with diamond endstone. The movement is in wonderful condition and is running well to within a minute per hour.

DIAL : The large white enamel dial is really exceptional. It is 46.7mm in diameter and is in absolutely perfect condition. Good quality matching gold hands.

CASE : This is a large watch, with a diameter of 53.5mm. Fully hallmarked for London 1807, maker RIG. The silver, crystal, hinges and catches all in very fine condition.
