MOVEMENT : Nice clean, gilded movement with square pillars and a beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock. The movement is signed (Chas. Burges London) and numbered (1538). It is running well, to within a minute per hour.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 36 mm in diameter. It is in excellent condition with just some surface scratches but no chips, hairlines or repairs.
Fancy brass hands.
INNER CASE : Hallmarks for London, 1768, maker Wh(?). The hinge is in good condition and the case snaps shut nicely. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is in good condition. The bow and pendant are fine but with the usual repaired join to the case. The silver is in reasonable condition with some very minor bruises on the back but nothing too bad.
OUTER CASE : Diameter 51mm. Matching hallmarks to the inner. The hinge is good and the catch and and release button are fine. The case closes nicely. The silver is in reasonable condition though with a number of small dents and bruises on the back.
