This is an English silver pair cased pocket watch, in good working condition, with a verge escapement fusee movement, made in 1792 by John Worsfold of Hampton Wick (Surrey).

MOVEMENT : Excellent gilded movement in fine condition. Beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock. The movement is signed and numbered (660). It is running well.

DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 40.5 mm in diameter. It is in good condition with no chips or hairlines but some surface scratches.
Nice old steel beetle and poker hands (not reproductions).

INNER CASE : Full hallmarks for London 1792, maker WD. The hinge is in good condition and the case closes nicely. High dome bull’s eye crystal with no chips but a few scratches. The pendant is fine without the usual repaired join to the case. The silver is in excellent condition with no dents, bad scratches or excessive wear.

OUTER CASE : Matching marks to the inner. Again the hinge is good. The release button is absent but the catch is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The silver is in good condition with no dents, repairs or damage.

Loomes lists a Thomas Worsfold, in Hampton Wick between 1775 and 1790.
